Despite Brexit , trade relationships between Italy and the UK show now sign of weakening: the British public is still in love with Italian food and drink, registering over £600 million imports in the first three months of 2018, +3,25% compared to the previous year. The wine compartment on the other hand registered £121,55 million in the same period (source: Italian Trade Agency).
The Bellavita Expo programme includes over forty masterclasses, industry talks, seminars and cokking shows with starred chefs and experts, providing an unique opportunity to discuss upcoming Italian gastronomy trends in the UK.
Jewel in the crown of Bellavita Food Academy will be a session on Italian fusion with Michelin star Roberts Ortiz from Lima Restaurant, while Theo Randall from the InterContinental will share insights into Italian classics with a masterclass titled “Dough’s and don’ts”. Other unmissable appointments include a masterclass with Jacob Kenedy from Bocca di Lupo on the challenges of piquing customers’ interest with new ingredients, while Francesco Mazzei from Sartoria will reveal the latest must-have ingredients from Southern Italy. Finally, Carlo Cracco, starred pioneer of modern Italian cuisine and TV host at Masterchef Italy, will delight visitors with unusual dishes created with the UK audience in mind.
