Rome is a city of pass ions, rising to the capital of Italy for its glorious past and represents the geographical heart of the nation. All roads lead to Rome, says a popular proverb, an it’s unthinkable not to visit Caput Mundial least one.

The history of the city of Rome has certainly been singular, sumptuouse epochs alternating
ith others of decay, immense wealth and moral decadence, in a city that has always been able to bloom again. That’s probably why it’s called the Etern city.
It’s historic center is among the 53 Italian sited included by the UNESCO in the World Heritage List.
The historic center, eclosed within the Aurelian Walls (on the left of the Tiber) and the Gianicolensi Walls (on the right of the Tiber), includes arount 25.000 points of environmental and archaeological interest.According to the legend, in 753 BC tw
o brothers, Romolus and Remus, founded Rome. They were suckled by the famous Lupa, which has become an iconographic symbol of the capital. But it’s the history that made Rome great. It was the first center of the Roman Republic, then the fulcrum of the political and cultural life of the Empire, and then in the 4th century the capital of the Christian world.
The site of the World Heritage includes some of the most important monuments of antiquity, among which the Fori Imperialia stand out. Not far, on the Aventine Hill we find two masterpieces, where the Roman Gens used to go to relax: The Baths of Caracalla (among the most magnificent examples of public baths), and The Circus Maximus (dedicated to chariot races). Moving to the North we find Castel Santa Angelo, the stronghhold of the Pop, that is connected to the city of Vatican State by a fortified corridor. Still in the historic centrer stands the Pantheon, a temple dedicated to the gods of Olympus, wanted by the emperor Adriano.
Then there are lots of squares, unforgettable places in Rome where you can take a break or an aperitif: Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona with the Bernini fountain of the Four RIvers in the middle, Piazza di Spagna dominated by the famous staircase, Piazza del Popolo with its twin churces and Piazza Venezia with the imposing Vittoriano behind the Capidoglio.
Once in Rome you have to raste the many typical recipes that the city offers. There are lots of restaurants, and everywhere you go you will be amazed.
Shoppers, weiters and people you meet in street will always make you feel at ease, thats their nature.
Once you came back from your holiday you will feel emplty and displace, and it’s a quite good reason to visit Rome again.
