The 2021 Brit Awards are dominated by women with Dua Lipa toping winners list.
Dua Lipa has topped the winners at the 2021 Brit awards, calling for Boris Johnson to approve “a fair pay rise” for frontline NHS staff as she picked up gongs including the top prize of British album for her chart-dominating disco spectacular “Future Nostalgia” She also won female solo artist, bringing her total Brit award tally to five and cementing her position as one of the UK’s most successful and critically acclaimed pop stars. 2020’s heavily male ceremony reversed with wins for Arlo Parks, Haim and Billie Eilish, as Little Mix become first all-female winner of British group. Cannes Film Festival 2021 new dates!
The Cannes Festival, until 2003 called the International Film Festival and known in English as the Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. As announced last autumn, the Festival de Cannes reserved the right to change its dates depending on how the global health situation developed. Initially scheduled from 11 to 22 May 2021, the 74th Festival will therefore now take place from Tuesday 6 to Saturday 17 July 2021. Read more

This exhibition presents Turner as a passionate and engaged painter of modern life. It shows how alive he was to the liberations and oppressions of his revolutionary age. Born in London in 1775, into a world ruled by aristocrats and monarchs where the horse was the fastest thing on earth, Turner lived to see the coming of trains, steamships, political reform and photography – and the abolition of the slave trade. As committed to film as ever, the Festival de Cannes – which was unable to take place in May due to the pandemic – will be attending Deauville to stand alongside the artists and films it continues to support. “As the summer winds down, and audiences rediscover the beauty of films in cinemas, Deauville’s decision to include some of the Official Selection 2020’s titles is a sign of shared conviction and friendship, and is this autumn’s first stop-off for the Cannes films, to be followed by San Sebastián, Lyon, Rome, Pusan and many others – before wrapping up in Cannes!

Cannes Classics 2020
For the 17th consecutive year, here is the program of the classic cinema section of the Cannes Festival. Restored prints, celebrations and documentaries will be programmed.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, when we were still unaware that the relation of contemporary cinema to its own memory would be shaken up by the emerging appearance of digital technology, the Festival de Cannes created Cannes Classics, a selection allowing to display the work of valorization of heritage cinema carried out by production companies, right-owners, cinematheques or national archives from around the world.
