Every year, the selected pyrotechnicians compete for the highly coveted “Vestale d’Argent” and, every four years, the winners return to do battle for the “Vestale d’Or”, “Vestale d’Argent” and “Vestale de Bronze”, precious door openers awarded to “the best of the best”. Upcoming The 76th Venice International Film Festival 28.08-7.09.19

The 76th Venice International Film Festival is scheduled for 28 August to 7 September 2019.
The festival is held in late August or early September on the island of the Lido in the Venice Lagoon. Screenings take place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi. The festival continues to be one of the world’s most popular and fastest-growing. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association). The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The Festival also organises retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.

Shock result at the start of Wimbledon Tennis Tournament!

The 15-year-old US player dispatched seasoned tennis ace Venus Williams in two straight sets! Meanwhile, it was a disappointing start to the Grand Slam tournament for some top German names…The Wimbledon Foundation, established in 2013, is the charity of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Championships. The Foundation builds on the success of an extensive programme of community and charitable activities over a number of years. The inaugural Championships are held at the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club, Worple Road, Wimbledon, with an entry of 22 men attracted by an announcement in The Field. Exiting Cannes Film Festival 2019 Awards!

PALME D’OR: GISAENGCHUNG (Parasite) réalisé par BONG Joon-Ho. The 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival wrapped with jury president Alejandro González Iñárritu announcing the group’s unanimous decision to award the Palme d’Or to South Korean director Bong Joon-Ho for his sly, politically charged “Parasite.” Following last year’s win for humanistic Japanese drama “Shoplifters,” the well-reviewed Asian thriller represents the yin to that film’s yang: the story of a lower-class family who try to improve their social situation by infiltrating a rich household. The dark comedy centres on an impoverished family of hustlers who move into the home of a wealthy entrepreneur, his wife and two children.
