This festive season, the Christmas parties are in overdrive. Deprived of IRL discos and dinners for the last few years, this year we’re taking things to the max. And that requires sequins, feathers and dressing all the way up. Sequin dresses, six inch heels, sparkly clutch bags, feathers, lace and more. Because socialising is fabulous and we need to embrace all the joy we can get.
Festive attire is the name of a dress code that is similar to cocktail attire. T-shirts and denims are a no-go as Christmas outfits, as are casual sweatshirts, bohemian styles rather suited for the beach and frumpy ensembles. Also called ‘holiday attire’, this dress code welcomes sequins, tartan, cashmere, velvet, satin, tweed, pearls , fine jewellery and other similar elements.
Colours that are good for Christmas Photos
Opt for the classic Christmassy colours including red and green – but not paired together (in their saturated and bold tones). Go for a vibrant hue with a plaid like tartan or fair isle knits. Embrace metallics like gold, silver and copper / rust. For a less saturated, slightly moodier look, pick jewel tones in darker shades, like burgundy and dark emerald. Always count on neutrals like black and white.
