Sheraton Grand London Park Lane has joined forces with the reigning World Cup Gelato Champion to bring World Cup winning ice cream to its Italian restaurant Mercante. Mercante has launched an exclusive ice cream menu developed with World Gelato Master Eugenio Morrone  – the only place in the UK to serve World Cup winning gelato this summer.

The hatrick of flavours are available to take away from Mercante’s bespoke ice cream cart and served in shining golden trophies, or enjoyed sitting on the terrace whilst soaking up the Mayfair sunshine. The summer terrace is ideally located on Piccadilly, overlooking Green Park and just a five-minute walk from Hyde Park. Foodies with a sweet tooth can indulge in the Golden Summer, Sweet & Spicy or Parco Verde, with prices starting from £7.90.

The bespoke gelato has been developed using a brand new and exclusive recipe. The triumphant creations are not available anywhere else in the UK and Mercante is the only place to taste the World Cup winning flavours:

  • Golden Summerpistachio gelato crowned with a home-made raspberry drizzle, inspired by the recipe that scooped Eugenio first place in the World Cup
  • Sweet & Spicy hotting things up with the perfect blend of decadent dark chocolate and Sichuan pepper. Prepared with the highest quality cocoa powder, taste buds will tingle with a citrus kick
  • Parco Verde inspired by Mercante’s neighbour Green Park, this sorbet is a dairy-free dream combining cinnamon flowers with apples, pine nuts and raisins to create a refreshing summer sorbet

The team has worked closely with ice cream connoisseur Eugenio Morrone to develop an unbeatable menu. Eugenio has participated in the most prestigious international competitions where he was crowned first place at the 2020 Gelato World Cup, as well as becoming the first gelato maker to feature in the Gelato World Ranking 2022 Hall of Fame.
