This year, Deauville’s boardwalk will be exuding a glimmer of Croisette magic, as nine of the Festival de Cannes Official Selection’s fifty-six films are set to be screened. As committed to film as ever, the Festival de Cannes – which was unable to take place in May due to the pandemic – will be attending Deauville to stand alongside the artists and films it continues to support. “As the summer winds down, and audiences rediscover the beauty of films in cinemas, Deauville’s decision to include some of the Official Selection 2020’s titles is a sign of shared conviction and friendship, and is this autumn’s first stop-off for the Cannes films, to be followed by San Sebastián, Lyon, Rome, Pusan and many others – before wrapping up in Cannes!
The 2020–21 Premier League is the 29th season of the the top English professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1992. Twenty days on from the Champions League final, seven weeks on from the end of the last league season, welcome back, roll up and take a bio secured seat for the autumn-to-summer grind of football in the time of plague. For English football this really is a journey without maps, an attempt to return to some modified version of reality at a time when the limits of the possible seem to shift every few days. It is also the right moment to ask how this is going to feel. Nobody knows right now to what degree the public will be allowed to return to the spectacle.
The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to announce the provisional schedule for London Fashion Week (LFW) September 2020. The gender neutral showcase will run from Thursday 17th to Tuesday 22nd September 2020 and include both digital activations and physical events, adhering to Government guidelines on social distancing. The schedule will host over 80 designers including 40 womenswear, 15 menswear, 20 menswear & womenswear and 5 accessories brands. There will be a total of 50 digital only activations, 21 physical and digital, 7 physical only and 3 designers who will activate through a physical evening event only.

British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to announce that following the initial £1,000,000 made available for the BFC Foundation Fashion Fund, the organisation raised an additional £500,000, allowing applications to reopen for a second round. The BFC Foundation Fashion Fund was established in March, to support creative fashion businesses and individuals to survive the Covid-19 crisis. In May 2020, the BFC gave financial support and mentoring to 37 British designer businesses, with grants taken from the £1,000,000 emergency fund allocated to viable businesses depending on their urgency and capability to come through and thrive post crisis. A portion of funds was allocated to students, underpinning the future generation of creative talent.

Passengers entering the UK from dozens of countries no longer have to quarantine! More than 50 countries – including many popular holiday spots – now pose ”a reduced risk” from coronavirus, the government says. The list focuses on countries in Europe, island nations around the world including the Caribbean, and countries further east – including Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
